Imagine a half-marathon race. The runners are pushing themselves, and the crowd is cheering them on.
But in that crowd, there are two loud, annoying groups.
One of them is belittling the 21K effort. Why run only a handful of kilometres? The human body could run around the globe with the right training and nutrition! Soon, every human will sprint faster than a car! They make up this nonsense in an attempt to sound interesting to their peers. They are not.
The other group has the opposite, yet weirdly similar mentality. “Running is useless”, they claim loudly. “I can do the 21K by car”, they shout. Whenever a runner trips, they point and laugh. They are convinced they are clever and the runners are dumb. Nobody thinks that’s true.
In the meantime, most of us are either running or cheering on. Even if we are much slower than the rest. Even if we currently can’t participate. Even if we stumble. We are pushing ourselves and are excited to see where the race will take us.
Yes, this is about AI.
